Top 5 Things That Can Ruin Your Brow or Lip Embroidery

Semi-permanent makeup can be life-changing… but only if you protect your results during the healing stage.

The first 7–10 days after your procedure are critical. If you’re not careful, these five common mistakes can cause pigment loss, uneven colour, or even scarring.

Here’s what to avoid, and how to keep your results crisp, even, and beautiful.

1. Touching, Picking, or Scratching

It flakes. It itches. You want to pick.
Don’t.

Touching the area with your fingers can introduce bacteria, and picking off scabs will cause pigment dropout—leaving behind uneven patches or scars.

Let your skin flake naturally. It knows what to do.

2. Applying Makeup or Skincare on the Treated Area

No BB cream. No concealer. No lipstick. No sunscreen. Nothing.

Keep the area completely product-free until the skin finishes peeling. Skincare and makeup can irritate the wound, cause colour changes, or delay healing.

3. Sweating or Getting the Area Wet

This one’s tough—but important.

Avoid:

  • Saunas

  • Hot yoga

  • Workouts

  • Long, steamy showers

  • Swimming

Sweat and water can push pigment out before it settles, especially during the first few days.

4. Skipping the Touch-Up Session

Your second session isn’t optional. It:

  • Reinforces pigment

  • Evens out patchy areas

  • Makes your results last longer

Skipping your touch-up means faster fading and less defined results.

5. Using Harsh Products Too Soon

Even after peeling, your skin is still healing underneath.

Hold off on retinols, acids, scrubs, or whitening products for at least 2 weeks. These can strip pigment, inflame skin, or alter the colour.

💆‍♀️ Want to Heal Faster?

The best way to speed up recovery? Stick to embroidery-safe care only. After your skin has fully healed (at least 10–14 days), we recommend:

Eyebrow Regrowth Booster – Ideal for strengthening your brow zone once scabs are gone and skin is stable. Helps anchor pigment and improve texture in sparse areas.

Lip Embroidery Blush – For clients with deeper-toned lips who need additional balancing or colour reinforcement post-healing.

These services are tailored for treated areas—not just your face overall. They support pigment retention and keep your results looking fresh, clean, and long-lasting.
